Open Soccer Tryouts Mls

Linux on Sony Vaio (VPCS13B7E / B) 10.04 LST

I made a big mistake ... I decided to change my "old" msi x340, fully compatible with Linux, with the Sony Vaio in question. Really good at computer hardware but it seems that Sony would not want to be installed linux on that laptop :)... As usual just out of the box I put in a dvd player linux distribution (debian in this case 6) and I did install without problems. Debian
When you first start you can see immediately that sony has hatred towards linux :)... It does not work practically nothing and then I started googling and solve problems one at a time.
Start the video card (nvidia 310m)
install the latest driver available through synaptic (nvidia-glx 195.36.31-6) and the various utility nvidia-settings and nvidia-xconfig ... After installation, do a fine from the terminal:
nvidia-xconfig
and after rebooting, tac ... black screen: (
To resolve this problem I had to reboot in recovery mode and
Install the latest driver available on nvidia site ( http://www.nvidia.it/Download/Find.aspx?lang=it ) ... I installed the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-270.26 which are currently beta. At the end of the installation when asked to run "nvidia-xconfig 'accept to create the file / etc/X11/xorg.conf and finish the installation.
done this without rebooting we must put in the file / etc/X11/xorg.conf the following values \u200b\u200bin "Section Device": Option
 "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP-0" Option
"CustomEDID" "DFP-0: / proc / acpi/video/IGPU/LCD0/EDID "
Option "RegistryDwords" EnableBrightnessControl = 1 "
and / etc / modprobe.d / disable-nouveau.conf (which does not exist, just create it!):
blacklist options nouveau nouveau
modeset = 0

Now we can restart.
After this change the video section would work properly and you can move to the next problem ...

The brightness of the monitor is not editable.
To fix this problem, install "nvidiabl-dkms_0.67_all.deb ( http://www.mediafire.com/?5lp05on73575tbo ). Download the file
vpcs13b7e.tar.gz ( http://www.mediafire.com/?krhce8knl8d1ml2 ) that contains 3 files that I had to change to make it work almost perfectly (it has some problemini, but at least you can adjust the brightness:))
home and place the file in a terminal (as root) give the following commands:
tar-zxvf vpcs13b7e.tar.gz
sonybright.sh mv / etc / acpi /
sony-brightness-* mv / etc / acpi / events /
After a restart should be ok even brightness.

The wireless card does not work because it lacks the firmware ... run it! :)
From the terminal:
 aptitude install firmware-iwlwifi wireless-tools modprobe
 iwlagn
 ifconfig wlan0 up
And now the wireless should be ok and we can go further.

The audio section:
Install the sources of alsa with:
apt-get install alsa-source
update & & but but but to prepare
-t alsa-source

function keys:
For now I still have not fixed the function keys, so it does not work properly adjust the brightness of the monitor, and more.

For the touchpad you need to enter "i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop" in "/ etc / default / grub:

change the line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT =" quiet "in

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "quiet i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop "
must also enter the following string to resolve a conflict of acpi:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX =" acpi_enforce_resources = lax "

open the terminal and give the command: update-grub
Now even the touchpad should work properly.

- usefully -
